Ghost Fighter
As a child of the 90’s, you likely watched many iconic anime featuring street-brawling delinquents such as Dragon Ball and Slam Dunk. But there was another series that had more sinister overtones — Yu Yu Hakusho.
After experiencing his own brush with death, an 18-year-old teenage delinquent is recruited into becoming a Spirit Detective to fight demons and other spirits alongside his friends Kuwabara, Kurama and Hiei.
Yusuke enters Genkai’s Dark Tournament tournament against Sakyo, who hopes to use her victory to open up a path between our world and Demon Plane so demons may pass freely between them. Throughout this arc, demons attempt to enter Yusuke’s body through its pores.
YuYu Hakusho
Although not as widely celebrated as Hunter X Hunter, this battle shonen series led the way for others. Starring Yoshihiro Togashi’s trademark witty humor and character development alongside plenty of action sequences.
Yusuke Urameshi, an antisocial street brawling delinquent who ultimately died protecting a child from an oncoming vehicle, surprised even heaven and hell; no place was prepared for him in either heaven or hell.

Dragon Ball
