Every citizen and NRI (non-resident Indian) in India is given an Aadhaar number, a 12-digit unique identifying number that serves as documentation for both identity and residency. Contrary to popular belief, it is not a proof of citizenship, nevertheless. No two Aadhaar cards can be identical because they are created based on the biometric and demographic information of each individual. UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) was established in January 2009 and is approved by the Indian government. All individuals must now link their Aadhaar to their bank accounts, mobile phones, and other accounts. The government is working diligently to extend this requirement to other services like driver’s licences, LPG subsidies, demat accounts, and other financial products.
Depending on your preference, Pune residents can access the Aadhaar Enrolment Form both online and offline. You can download the form from the UIDAI website if you opt for the online method. Aadhaar Enrolment Process Online
The procedures you must take if you decide to enroll in Aadhaar online are as follows:
- Take a printout of the Aadhaar Enrolment Form after downloading it from the UIDAI’s official website or from this page.
- Without withholding or misrepresenting any information, complete the form with your true personal information.
- Visit an authorised Pune Aadhaar enrolment centre with original and copies of your identification documents, including your proof of age, proof of address, and proof of identification. Use the UIDAI webpage to find the closest Pune Aadhaar Card Enrolment Center by providing information about your State, Pin Code, or City (that is, Pune).
- Send the completed enrollment form and the aforementioned documentation.
- Give your biometric and demographic information, as well as a picture that will be taken right away.
